Leticia Coura is an artist.<\/p>\n
She is a singer, songwriter, writer, actress and vocal coach. She plays the acoustic guitar and the cavaquinho. In 1999, alongside Beto Bianchi and Vitor da Trindade, she founded the samba trio Revista do Samba<\/a>, with whom she recorded five albums: Revista do Samba<\/em> (Traumton Records<\/a>, 2002 \u2013 Germany \u2013 and Rob Digital<\/a>, 2003 \u2013 Brazil), Outras Bossas<\/em> (Traumton Records 2004), Revista Bixiga Oficina do Samba<\/em> (Atra\u00e7\u00e3o Fonogr\u00e1fica<\/a>, 2006 \u2013 Brazil), Hort\u00eansia du Samba<\/em> (Les Disques Bien<\/a>, 2011 \u2013 in partnership with the French band Tante Hortense<\/a>), and Revista do Samba<\/em> (Tratore<\/a>, 2014). The trio performed in Brazil and in festivals in Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, with highlight to APAP (New York \u2013 USA), Stimmen (Germany), Val Latina and Parc de La Villette (France), Minta (Tel Aviv \u2013 Israel), World of Performing Arts Festival (Lahore \u2013 Pakistan), Mawazine Festival and Festival des Musiques du D\u00e9sert (Rabat and Sahara \u2013 Morocco), and Brazilian All Stars Festival and Coffee Festival (Seoul and Gangneung \u2013 South Korea).<\/p>\n In 2001, she joined the theatre company Teatro Oficina<\/a>, directed by Jos\u00e9 Celso Martinez Corr\u00eaa, with whom she has performed in several Brazilian cities and also in Germany, Croatia, Portugal and Belgium, and she was a part of the plays:<\/p>\n \u2022 Bacantes<\/em> (Bacchantes), by Euripides; She was awarded the Shell Theatre Award 2003 \u2013 Music, alongside other composers for her work in Os Sert\u00f5es \u2013 O Homem<\/em> (Rebellion in the Backlands \u2013 The Earth), directed by Jos\u00e9 Celso Martinez Corr\u00eaa, and she was nominated the following year to the Shell Theatre Award 2004 \u2013 Special Category, for the Choir Musical Direction and Appreciation developed in Os Sert\u00f5es \u2013 do nascimento \u00e0 revolta<\/em> (Rebellion in the Backlands \u2013 from birth to revolt).<\/p>\n She debuted in theatre in S\u00e3o Paulo singing in the play I Love \u2013 Mayakovsky and Lili Brik<\/em>, directed by Beatriz Azevedo<\/a> \u2013 with whom she also worked in \u00d3pera Urbana Zucco<\/em> \u2013, which she translated from the original in French by Bernard\u2010Marie Kolt\u00e8s (Teatro de Bernard\u2010Marie Kolt\u00e8s \u2013 Editora Hucitec<\/a>, 1995). She signed the Musical Direction of the shows O Fantasma do Circo<\/em>, by Veronica Tamaoki<\/a>, and Ret\u00e1bulo da Avareza, Lux\u00faria e Morte, with the company Os Satyros<\/a>, directed by Rodolfo Garc\u00eda V\u00e1zquez.<\/p>\n In 2015 and 16, she worked with Bloco Pau\u2010Brasil<\/a> by staging Oswald de Andrade\u2019s poems and turning them into music. The bloco<\/em> paraded through the streets of Bixiga neighborhood (in S\u00e3o Paulo), integrating the official program of S\u00e3o Paulo Street Carnaval 2016. Since 2011, she has also been the lead singer for Bloco da Cambinda, a carnaval street bloco from Embu das Artes (SP).<\/p>\n Her first book of short-stories, \u201cEnt\u00e3o \u00e9 isso?!\u201d<\/a><\/em>, was released in 2016 by Giostri Editora<\/a>. \nShe released two solo albums: Bam Bam Bam<\/a><\/em> (Dabli\u00fa Discos<\/a>, 1998) carries her own compositions as well as those from Pixinguinha, Carmen Miranda, Lupic\u00ednio Rodrigues and Monsueto; and Leticia Coura canta Boris Vian <\/a><\/em>(Dabli\u00fa Discos, 2001) carries her Portuguese version for songs of the French poet and trumpeter Boris Vian, merged with the originals in French.
